Ahead of GES2026, Calgary set the stage for Argentina Day.

The event, held on June 8 at McDougall Centre and jointly organized by the Government of Alberta, the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service, and the Chamber of Commerce Argentina-Canada, featured remarks this year from Christopher McPherson, Deputy Minister of Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration of Alberta, who opened the gathering with a welcome address to the Argentine delegation.

Our partner, María José Machaín, presented the investment landscape in Argentina, focusing on the easing of foreign exchange restrictions, the RIGI, and the concrete opportunities the country offers in the energy sector. The presentation gave rise to a lively and engaging exchange with those in attendance, including officials from the provinces of Mendoza, Neuquén, Río Negro, and Tierra del Fuego, key players in the industry, and companies with their sights set on Argentina.

Beyond the numbers and regulatory frameworks, what defined the day was a spirit of dialogue among two countries with a shared agenda around energy, investment, and development.
