On June 9, 2025, Argentina Day took place —an event organized by the Chamber of Commerce Argentina-Canada and the Government of Alberta, which has been held for several years as part of the Global Energy Show. The event brings together investors and energy companies interested in exploring investment opportunities in Argentina.
Our partner, María José Machaín, gave a presentation on the current situation in Argentina. She addressed the political landscape and the structural reforms promoted by President Milei’s administration, highlighting key aspects of the Bases Law, the privatization of state-
owned enterprises, the labor reform, and the Investment Incentive Regime for Large-Scale Investments (RIGI). She also made particular emphasis on oil and gas projects critical to the RIGI, as well as on the new foreign exchange measures implemented last April, which affect the import and export of goods.
The presentation was attended by authorities of the province of Río Negro and key industry players, who had the chance to discuss them challenges and opportunities that Argentina currently offers for investment.
